Bamboo telescoping back scratcher is a very handy tool for people with itches on their back. It is also a great gift to a friend who has this problem. So, what is the advantage of having a telescoping back scratcher? Read on to find out as I dissect the product and give you all the low downs on the pros and cons of this device.

The main advantage of a telescoping back scratcher is the reach. In case you are unaware, telescoping means the ability to retract and expand. This means for areas that you can reach with a normal back scratcher, this baby can do it for you. In addition, because you can easily reduce the length by retracting it, this can be stored in a drawer or any other small places.

In terms of materials, I always recommend the bamboo version not only because it is a more environmentally friendly product but it is stronger as well. Unfortunately, there is no bamboo version for telescoping back scratcher, at least not to my knowledge.

The drawback however is its durability. Because of the ability to extend, the joints holding the different pieces together are a big weak. After a few months of usage, these tend to break at the joint. However, since the cost of these is so low, getting a few pieces can last me for an entire year. In exchange for the ability to reach those hard to reach itchy areas, this drawback is a minor issue for me.

Some people feedback that the fingers are not fine enough to cure the itch. I don’t have this problem personal, neither have my sons. They used this device regularly and I haven’t any complaint that the back scratcher couldn’t solve their itching problem. So, in terms of the sensitivity of the fingers, I have no issue.

If you are buying this online, my suggestion is to buy in bulk rather than just one piece. As I said earlier, these things tend to break after a few months so it make sense to get a few. Also, if you only get one, you will find the shipping cost is often higher the cost of the back scratcher itself, which makes no sense.
